Our Story
Bill & Janine Kent
Bill and Janine Kent have been in the music business for almost 40 years. Singer, songwriter, guitarist, vocalist, entertainer, producer, manager, arranger, promoter are some of the many hats they have worn over the years.
From their early involvement with high school bands and musicals to a world- wide tour with Internationally famous Music and Education group “Up With People” they have been fortunate to be part of many rewarding projects.
Bill and Janine formed their own band “Double Exposure” in 1983 and performed more than 5000 shows over their 30 years together at casinos resorts clubs and corporate events all over the world. The band also received radio airplay for several of their recordings.
Bill helped to co-write and produce his daughter Lynzie Kent’s first 2 albums.
With his co-workers at Air Canada, their group “Airborne 11” were winners of the television show “Canada Sings” which resulted in a $10000 donation to Ronald McDonald House in Toronto.
In 2013, Bill became involved with UnioNation, a musical project of The IAM to write and promote new Union music.
In 2017 Bill and Janine formed the Fossil Rockers with some past members of Double Exposure and a few other talented friends. The focus has been on having fun doing something they enjoy as well as assisting various charitable organizations in fundraising efforts. Their most recent Christmas concert for CASHH helped to raise $15000 for the organization.
Steve Jones - Bass
A retired police officer, Steve was the original bass player in Double Exposure and Ventura and has maintained close ties with the group’s founders over the years. Steve is happy to be back playing music regularly
Paul Thompson - keyboards
A retired high school music teacher, Paul has played professionally his entire life. Educated at Humber College in the music program Paul plays keyboards and trumpet.
Brent Barkhouse - guitar
Brent is a talented guitarist who does group and solo work and plays with several bands. He toured with Cherry Willow in the 70’s and was a founding member of Station House.
Matt Teeter - drums
Matt, a Guelph native, received his music degrees at Sir Wilfred Laurier University and Queen’s University. His professional performance career began in the mid 80’s and has included both live and studio experiences in Jazz, Pop/ Rock, Country and Musical Theatre.
Matt has played in several musical pit orchestras and has served as Musical Director and Orchestra Director for several theatre companies including The Community Players of New Hamburg, Royal City Musical Productions, Curtain Call Productions and The Singers Theatre.
Matt is a multi-instrumentalist whose primary instruments are Drums/Percussion, Saxophones, and EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument).
As a music educator he has taught vocal and instrumental music from Jk to Grade 12 for more than 20 years. He most recently served as the Music Director at Bishop MacDonell Catholic Secondary School in Guelph, Ontario from 2010-2015 where he taught courses in instrumental band, guitar, vocal and electronic music composition.
